This was a fun self directed project in which I took a quote, and illustrated it using hand lettering. I began with lots of sketching, drawing, and inking before I even touched a computer.
I began in my sketch book. I had my quote so I decided to do some playing around with different styles of lettering. I used regular and Black Wing pencils in my sketch book.

From that last sketch in my sketch book I inked and penciled this out on a sheet of paper. The lettering and spacing needed some work.
So I broke out the tracing paper and did several revisions trying to get the lettering and spacing just right.
Eventually I ended up with this inked on a sheet of tracing paper.
I chose to experiment with digital colorization. So I turned to Photoshop where I reached my final poster. Even in Photoshop I made tweaks to the spacing and scale till I felt I got it just right.
